National Outstanding Farmer Association
NOFA (National Outstanding Farmer Association) is an independent Indonesian organization which is oriented in social activity at agricultural sector, based on the agribusiness culture and environmentally friendly in villages.
In Indonesia, NOFA is well known as KTNA (Kontak Tani Nelayan Andalan).
The vision of NOFA is to aid farmers to become self-governing and self-aware.
Mission
- Empowering farmer in the development of system and effort of agribusiness and food security to strengthen regional autonomy.
- Developing self-directed of farmer institution through capacity building of the group member human resources.
- Generating capability of farmer group to strengthen bargaining position and access of capital for farmer.
- Developing economic potency in the village through capacity building of agriculture resource and creating job opportunity to strengthen national economy.
- Realizing sustainability of food security and needs of family food and other farmer community.
- Achieving sustainable development and environmentally friendly.
NOFA is an assembly of farmer and fisherman that elected as a representative of their group within qualification as chairman of farmer group who have capability and skill in their own field, have a pioneer characteristic and patriotism in developing national economic, especially agricultural development. NOFA established and existed at sub districts, districts, provinces and national level, and formulation of the personnel of board management in accordance with the level needed.
In this period, the chairman of NOFA is Mr. Winarno Tohir.
NOFA also implement some agricultural extension activities, one of them is to establish the Youth Farmer Alumni Training Program in Japan Association, known as IKAMAJA. The member of IKAMAJA is a young generation who carry on the aspiration of the senior outstanding farmer of Indonesia.
