New Home Star is a national real estate sales management firm serving builders and developers across the nation. Founded in 2008 by David Rice, the private company works with some of the largest homebuilders in the U.S. and Canada, as well as small and mid-size companies. The company is a national service provider to homebuilders and developers with a corporate office based in Chicago, Illinois.

Company history

The company was founded in 2008, spearheaded by new home industry expert David Rice.[1][2] Rice left a national role with Pulte Homes to pursue his vision of building the best sales team in the world with the mission to help homebuilders Sell More Homes More Profitably™. He went on to initiate a specialized sales outsourcing service specifically geared towards the homebuilding industry. New Home Star began by providing professionally trained onsite sales teams for homebuilders in the Chicago area, until its rapid expansion in subsequent years. In 2009 the company expanded into Colorado,[3] followed by South Carolina and Florida in 2010. Markets in Virginia, Washington, Idaho and Alberta, Canada were brought on in 2011 with Iowa and Michigan following in 2013, and Texas, Oregon, Missouri, Kansas and Utah in 2014. The company’s innovative online sales enablement platform, New Home Connect, was launched in 2014, providing sales associates with the ability to track performance, manage communities, generate marketing ideas, study competition and engage in time-tested sales training.[4]

Today, New Home Star has added divisions in Wisconsin, Indiana and Alabama, conducting business in 20 states across the country. The firm manages over 6,400 new home sales annually, equips and enables over 400 sales associates, and has over $1.5 billion total sales volume for client partnerships. The company focuses on offering clients a national reach with a local and specialized expertise.

Homebuilder services

New Home Star’s core services include sales operations and marketing,[5] geared towards "new residential construction for builders, developers and financial institutions,” according to Dave Rank of Chicago Agent Magazine. These services range from early planning and marketing of new developments to closeout sales in developments entering their final stages.

New Home Star specializes in outsourcing sales teams, training dedicated sales associates, and training teams on industry best practices. The company’s training processes are predicated on the formula Traffic x Conversions = Sales (T x C = S). ‘Traffic’ denotes bringing prospects into sales offices by way of New Home Star’s unique On Target Marketing approach and Sales Associate Marketing Initiatives (SAMI), while ‘Conversion’ is a result of Point of Sale training and the Ops Cycle™.[6]

Company divisions & subsidiaries

Along with the many geographically diverse markets where New Home Star maintains a presence, the organization is host to multiple subsidiary services ranging from their cutting edge technology platform, an in-house marketing unit and a growing urban and destinations division.

The CRM provides strategic marketing assistance, dynamic sales training, a robust peer learning section where ideas and solutions to sales challenges are exchanged, performance tracking and resources and processes for effectively managing communities.
