Nonceveux is a village located in the municipality of Aywaille in the province of Liège, Wallonia, Belgium. Before the merger of the municipalities, Nonceveux was part of Sougné-Remouchamps.
Geography
This Ardennes village is situated inside a meander of the Amblève which just came out of the Fonds de Quarreux. Nonceveux is located on the left bank, six kilometres south-east and upstream of Sougné-Remouchamps.
Description
Nonceveux is a small town with several camping grounds, both on the Amblève's left bank near the village, as well as on the right bank, which is more downstream.
The chapel that became the Saint Teresa of Avila church was built in 1790.
Hiking route GR 571 crosses the village.
People
Paul Comblen, architect of the Maison Comblen in Liège, lived the last part of his life in Nonceveux and died there in 1955.
