The Nova Artax is an Austrian single-place paraglider that was designed by Hannes Papesch and produced by Nova Performance Paragliders of Innsbruck. It is now out of production.[1]

Design and development

The aircraft was designed as an intermediate glider. The models are each named for their relative size.[1]

Variants

Artax S
Small-sized model for light pilots. Its 11.67 m (38.3 ft) span wing has a wing area of 23.08 m2 (248.4 sq ft), 53 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.17:1. The pilot weight range is 75 to 95 kg (165 to 209 lb). The glider model is DHV 1-2 and AFNOR Standard certified.[1]
Artax M
Mid-sized model for medium-weight pilots. Its 12.19 m (40.0 ft) span wing has a wing area of 25.18 m2 (271.0 sq ft), 53 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.17:1. The pilot weight range is 85 to 105 kg (187 to 231 lb). The glider model is DHV 1-2 and AFNOR Standard certified.[1]
Artax L
Large-sized model for heavier pilots. Its 12.72 m (41.7 ft) span wing has a wing area of 27.36 m2 (294.5 sq ft), 53 cells and the aspect ratio is 5.17:1. The pilot weight range is 100 to 130 kg (220 to 287 lb). The glider model is DHV 1-2 and AFNOR Standard certified.[1]
