Olof Guterstam (born January 4, 1983) is a Swedish footballer who last played for Älvsjö AIK FF.
Club career
He came to Brommapojkarna in 2002, previously he has played for Enskede IK and Älvsjö AIK as a midfielder and as a winger.[4] Guterstam was retrained to be a striker after he was recruited by Brommapojkarna, at the initiative of the then manager of the team, Benny Persson.
Olof was the winner of the Superettan Goalscorer List 2006, alongside Stefan Rodevåg of Falkenbergs FF, having scored a total of 17 goals during the season.[5] He was also instrumental in taking Brommapojkarna to Allsvenskan, the highest division in Swedish football, scoring two goals in the qualifyers against BK Häcken in November 2006.[6] He played 25 games with Brommapojkarna in Allsvenskan and scored 4 goals. Brommapojkarna was last place in Allsvenskan and the club was sent down to Superettan. Instead of following the club to Superettan, Olof signed a half-year loan contract with a Belgian club, FC Brussel.[7] He was very successful there, scoring 4 goals in 9 games. He returned to Brommapojkarna in May 2008. Shortly after his return he signed a half-year loan contract, with an option of a permanent transfer, this time with Swedish club Hammarby IF.[4] After a poor start with the club, he did improve and eventually managed to score two goals. Despite his improvement, Hammarby did not choose to buy him after the contract expired.[8] On 25 December 2010 left after eight years his club IF Brommapojkarna and signed a two-years contract for Division 1 Norra promoted club IK Frej.[9]
International career
Recently Guterstam was called up to the Sweden national football team on their South America tour in January 2007.[10]
Personal life
When he does not play football, he studies to become a physician at Karolinska Institutet in Solna.[11] He lives on Södermalm in Stockholm.
