Dr. Omar Davies (born 28 May 1947) is a Jamaican politician with the People's National Party (PNP), and the former Minister of Transport, Works and Housing and the former Minister of Finance of Jamaica. He was preceded by Audley Shaw & by extension Dwight Nelson and Don Wehby from the opposing Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) [2007 - 2012]. He received his doctorate in Economics from Northwestern University. His service in academia includes work at Stanford University (1973 - 1976) and the University of the West Indies. He is the current Member of Parliament for South St. Andrew; an infamous PNP garrison constituency.
