On Tai is one of the 36 constituencies of the Sha Tin District Council. The seat elects one member of the council every four years. It was first created in 2003 and gained by Lee Lap-hong of the Democratic Party. Yeung Cheung-li of the DAB had been hold the seat in the 2007 election until he abandoned the seat on 2012 due to his declaration of financial bankruptcy. The current boundary is loosely based on the areas of Kam Tai Court, Mountain Shore, Sausalito Tower, La Costa, Ocean View and Oceanaire.
