One of a Kind (Simonna song)

"One Of A Kind" is a song recorded by Lithuanian recording artist Simonna. It was written by F. Westin and produced by Bobby Ljunggren and Marcos Ubeda for her second studio self-titled album Simonna (2012).

Background and release

"One Of A Kind" was composed by Frederik Westin and produced by Bobby Ljunggren and Marcos Ubeda. The song was originally made for Carola Häggkvist, but when she refused to participate in the contest for the second year, producers gave this song to Simonna. She participated in National Eurovision Song Contest, and finished up in final, in 7th place. Though Simonna didn't won National Eurovision Song Contest, but after it, the fresh song got success in Lithuania, and Simonna released it as her second single on digitally.^[1][2]

In an interview with Lithuanian blog Eurodiena, Simonna described this song as followed:

This is a song about a loved one, the one, which for you could do anything. This is a song about feelings, experiences that most of us ever had, experienced. Perhaps, many would say that I am still very young and inexperienced, but my life has never been rosy. In the past, I survived the painful moments, but it did not stop me, I'm still moving, I always sang, and pursue my dreams not matter what. That's the thing I am trying to say with this powerful song.^[3]

Music video

The music video was shot in late 2011, in a simple studio, in Lithuania. It was uploaded on YouTube on December 11, 2011. The video is focused on Simonna who is either dancing, singing to a microphone, sitting on couch and floor in different and unique-looking outfit. Also, a popular ballet dancer in Lithuania, Nerijus Juška, was also featured on the video.^[4]

The edited version of this video was uploaded to Simonna's VEVO channel on YouTube on April 11, 2012. By the end of May, 2013, it has 2800 views.^[5]
