One Word Extinguisher
One Word Extinguisher is the second studio album by Prefuse 73.[1] It was released on May 6, 2003 on Warp Records.[2] The album is inspired by a breakup Herren and his girlfriend had with songs resulting in anger, depression, and chaos. Many of the tracks have been played on Cartoon Network's late night programming block, Adult Swim.
Reception
At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, One Word Extinguisher received an average score of 86 out of 100 based on 21 reviews, indicating "universal acclaim".[3] John Bush of AllMusic called the album "a set of electronica that's nearly as challenging as Autechre's relentlessly academic beat manipulation but just as funky and instantly gratifying as a Fatboy Slim flag-waver."[2] David Morris of PopMatters described it as "meticulously constructed and flawlessly engineered music".[1]
