Paul Schimpf is a Republican member-elect to the Illinois Senate from the 58th district.[1] The 58th district includes all or parts of Jefferson, Perry, Randolph, St. Clair, Monroe, Jackson, Union, and Washington.[2]

Prior to his election to the Illinois Senate, he was the Republican candidate for Illinois Attorney General in 2014 and an officer in the U.S. Marine Corps. He attended the United States Naval Academy and Southern Illinois University School of Law. He and his wife Lori live in Waterloo with their two sons.[3]
