Pennsylvania English
In terms of the English language, Pennsylvania is perhaps the most dialectically diverse U.S. state.[1] Thus, Pennsylvania English or Pennsylvania dialects may refer to any of the following dialects of English:
- Inland Northern American English, spoken in northeastern Pennsylvania
- Mid-Atlantic American English, spoken in southeastern Pennsylvania
- Pennsylvania Dutch English, spoken in southeastern Pennsylvania by people of Pennsylvania Dutch heritage
- Western Pennsylvania English, spoken in western and central Pennsylvania, including Pittsburgh
