The Peoria, Illinois mayoral election of 2005 was held to determine the Mayor of the City of Peoria from 2005 to 2009. Incumbent Mayor David P. Ransburg was defeated by At-Large Councilman Jim Ardis. Ardis was generally considered the conservative in the race, whereas Randsburg was seen as the more liberal.
