Phocas Software is a business intelligence software company headquartered in Coventry, England. As of 2015, it services more than 1,000 customers.[1]
History
Phocas was founded in Oxford, England, in 1999. Led by co-founders Paul Magee, Sean Morley and Myles Glashier, software development commenced that same year in Collaroy, Australia. The company officially launched in the UK in 2001, and Phocas Pty Ltd began operating in Australia in 2003.
In 2006, Phocas Inc. opened a New York City office in Manhattan.
In 2014, Phocas opened an office in Orlando, Florida and in 2015 expanded US operations opening a Reno, Nevada office. It also made news[2] when it opened an office and R&D centre in the regional NSW town of Orange.
In 2015, Phocas formed a strategic partnership with MAM Software to expand its reach into the automotive aftermarket, supply and distribution industries.[3]
Product
The latest version of Phocas Software's data analytics software integrates with popular enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.[4]
Phocas is a governed data discovery application with an HTML5/Javascript presentation layer, Microsoft.NET business logic layer and Microsoft SQL Server database layer.
The web application is deployed on premise or in the cloud on Microsoft IIS7. It has been optimised for the type of device whether it be a desktop, tablet, or phone.
The company claims a user base of 1,000 customers, with a 97% client retention rate.[5] It reported $20 million revenue in 2014.[6]

- In 2015, Phocas ranked number 1 in 8 categories, with a leading position in another 15 categories in the Business Application Research Center's BARC BI survey, the world’s largest business intelligence software review.[7]
- In 2014, Phocas was voted number 1 in 13 categories, with a leading position in another 26 categories in the BARC BI survey.[8]
- The company was rated as a leader in business benefits in the Gartner Magic Quandrant 2015.[9] It was also ranked in a high position for Product Quality, Ease of Use and Market Understanding.
- In 2014, Phocas was ranked number 48 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50,[10] an annual index of the fastest growing technology companies in Australia.
- In 2015, Phocas was ranked number 497 in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500,[11] an annual index of the fastest growing technology companies in Asia-Pacific.
- Phocas earned leader status and received the highest overall satisfaction ratings for business intelligence software in the G2Crowd winter 2015 report.[12]
