Pliny Norcross
Pliny Norcross (November 16, 1838 - June 11, 1915) was an American politician and lawyer.
Biography
Born in Templeton, Massachusetts, Norcross and his family settled in the Town of La Grange, Walworth County, Wisconsin. Norcross attended Milton Academy and then what was then the University of Wisconsin. During the Civil War, Norcross served in the 13th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment as a captain. He then practiced law in Janesville, Wisconsin and was in commercial business. He served as Mayor of Janesville, Janesville City Attorney and District Attorney of Rock County, Wisconsin. He then served in the Wisconsin State Assembly in 1867, 1888, 1905, and 1907 as a Republican. Norcross also served on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents. He died in Janesville, Wisconsin as a result of drowning.[1][2]
