Poulpeasty, officially Pollpeasty[1] (Irish: Poll Péiste, meaning "hole of the Péist"), is a small village in the west of County Wexford, Ireland.
History
The village and surrounding area were once part of the large estate of the Carew family of nearby the now ruined Castleboro House.
People
- World-renowned race horse trainer Aidan O'Brien was born and grew up in Poulpeasty. He attended the local primary school, 'St Joseph's Donard N.S.'.
Details
Today, the village contains a Primary School,[2] a Catholic church,[3] and a small number of houses.
The local GAA Club is Cloughbawn GAA Club.
