Mohammed Musa, known by his pen name Purnam Allahabadi was a Urdu poet.
He was born 1940 in Allahabad, India. He settled in Karachi after partition but later on moved to Lahore due to family disputes. There he lived in a single room flat at the renowned Anarkali Bazaar.
Besides writing song-lyrics for Indian and Pakistani movies, he was famous for writing the popular Sabri Brothers Qawwali "Bhar do jholi" and "Iss Shane Karam Ka" Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Qawwali in film Kachay Dhagay.He also wrote the famous qawwali "Tumhain Dil Lagi Bhool Jani Paray Gi" and "Ya Hussain Ya Hussain" qawwali both sung by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
Purnam Allahabadi died in Lahore on June 29, 2009 at the age of 69.
