Rahayu Mahzam (born 1980) is a Singaporean politician. A member of the Singapore-based People's Action Party (PAP), she currently serves as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Jurong Group Representation Constituency, or GRC in short.[1]
Education
Rahayu had her early education at Raffles Girls' School.[2] She then went on to complete her LLB degree in 2003 at the National University of Singapore.
Career
Rahayu is a lawyer by profession, specialising in civil litigation and family law.[3] Formerly a Deputy Registrar of the Syariah Court in Singapore,[2] she is currently a partner at Heng, Leong & Srinivasan.
Political career
On 20 August 2015, the People's Action Party (PAP) announced that Rahayu is part of a five-member PAP team that will be contesting in Jurong GRC in the 2015 general election.[4] Rahayu was elected into Parliament following the 2015 Singapore General Elections, when their five-member PAP team won and clinched 79.29% of the electorate's valid votes.[5]
