Early life & education
Ray was born and raised in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania before moving to Southern California. Ray graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California.[1]
Early career
Ray's past experience includes R.B. Webber,[2] a leading Palo Alto-based strategy consulting firm, and the Unlisted Group, where as Principal, he focused on converging and monetizing new technology and content creation.
BE-AT.TV
Ray Smith founded BE-AT.TV in 2009, creating the leading online community for dance music, connecting music fans with the world's leading artists, DJ's, festivals, promoters and venues. In 2014, BE-AT.TV was named Best Media Company at the prestigious DJ Awards. BBC Radio 1 DJ Pete Tong says, "b@ gives fans the music we are playing unedited, uninterrupted and with all the interaction between the clubbers and DJ on the night." [3]
In addition to BE-AT.TV, Smith is CEO of Ibiza Sonica, the world’s largest dance music radio station; Trackitdown, Europe’s leading dance music store;[4] and Louder, a leading merchandise brand in electronic music. Smith is also an investor in Ibiza Global Radio.[5]
