Rebecca Sereda (born May 5, 1996 in Brooklyn, New York[1]) is an American retired individual rhythmic gymnast. She is a three-time (2009-2011) Junior U.S National All-Around champion. She is a three-time (2012–14) Senior U.S. National All-around champion.
Personal life
Sereda was born in Brooklyn, New York.[1] She started gymnastics at the age of 6.
Career
Sereda appeared in international junior competitions in 2009 and debuted as a senior in the 2012 season. At the 2012 Moscow Senior International Tournament she came in 3rd in the all-around. Sereda competed at the 2013 World Championships in Kiev, Ukraine where she qualified and occupied the last position in the all-around finals in 24th place.
At the 2014 Pan American Championships in Mississauga, Canada; Sereda won gold in team and silver medal in the all-around. She also competed at the 2014 World Championships but was unable to qualify to the all-around finals. Struggling with a back injury, Sereda announced her retirement at the end of the 2014 season.[2]
