Rescue Squad Mater is a 2008 Pixar computer animated short film directed by John Lasseter and co-directed by Rob Gibbs and Victor Navone. It is the first short in the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales series. The short features characters from the Cars films and takes place after the events of Cars. It was first released on Toon Disney on October 27, 2008,[1] and was included in the home release of the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales disc compilation.[2]
Plot
Mater tells a story to Lightning McQueen about once being a fire rescue truck. Mater had to rescue McQueen from a burning building, and then had to operate on him as a doctor when he was sent to the hospital via ambulance.

On November 2, 2010, Rescue Squad Mater was released on DVD and Blu-Ray as part of the Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales compilation disc set.
