Richmond House

Richmond House, 79 Whitehall, London

Richmond House is the headquarters building of the Department of Health at 79 Whitehall, London, SW1A 2NS. It is where the ministerial team and key National Health Service officials are based.[1]

In August 2016, a leaked report published by The Times indicated that Richmond House would be used as a temporary alternative to the Houses of Parliament while the building is vacated whilst undergoing a series of structual and engineering upgrades and refurbishments. The report indicates that all Parliamentary and Ministerial Offices will be temporarily moved during the redevelopment, with the possibility of a makeshift chamber resembling that of the House of Commons also being created.

The design was by Whitfield Partners and was completed in 1987.[2][3]
