Riverdale Avenue Books[1] located in Riverdale, Bronx, was founded in 2012[2] by Lori Perkins, who is President and Publisher.

Riverdale publishes e-books and print on demand (POD) books sold on many e-vendor websites such as Amazon.com, Kobo, Nook, AllRomance Books and iBooks. Riverdale Avenue Books is an award winning, innovative hybrid publisher at the leading edge of the changes in the publishing industry. It publishes e-books, print and audio books under 9 imprints: Desire, an erotica/erotic romance imprint; Pop featuring pop culture titles; Riverdale/Magnus the award-winning imprint of LGBT titles; Truth, an erotic memoir line; Verve featuring lifestyle titles, Truth, an erotic memoir line; HSF, a horror, science fiction, fantasy line; Dagger, a mystery thriller imprint; and Sports and Gaming featuring sports and gaming titles.

In 2014, Riverdale was named the BiSexual Publisher of the Year from the Bi-Writer's Association.[3]

Riverdale's authors include Cecilia Tan, Riki Wilchins, Trinity Blacio, Marc Shapiro, and Lois Gresh, among many others.

Riverdale's books have won many awards. In 2016, Menage a Musketeer: A Novel of Swords and Debauchery[4][5] by USA Today's Best Selling Author Lissa Trevor won the IPPY Gold Medal Award for Erotica[6] and Finding Maculinity - Female to Male Transition in Adulthood[7][8] by Alexander Walker and Emmett J.P. Lundberg won the IPPY Silver Medal for Gay/Lesbian/Bi/Trans Non-Fiction.[9]

Riverdale publishes between 50 - 75 books a year.

Between the Covers is Riverdale Avenue Books' branded erotica and erotic romance reading series. The Downtown Series is held at People Lounge in New York City on the first Friday of every month and the Uptown Series is held at An Beal Bocht in Riverdale, Bronx, on the second Monday of every month. Riverdale is the only publisher in New York City with its own reading series open to all authors of erotica and erotic romance.
