Born Robert Ace Smith Barbers on May 31, 1969 in Manila, Philippines. He is the second of four siblings by Robert Barbers and Virginia Smith.

He is married to Bernadette Sison with 4 sons: Robert King, Robert Jack, Robert Ace Jr., and Robert Spade.
