Robert Cohen, also known as Rob Cohen, is a Canadian comedy writer. He was raised in Calgary, Alberta and has written for The Simpsons, The Wonder Years, The Ben Stiller Show, MADtv, Just Shoot Me!, Father of the Pride, and American Dad!. He has worked on The Big Bang Theory as co-executive producer (16 episodes) and writer (4 episodes). He is the older brother of recurring Simpsons writer Joel H. Cohen.

Career

He won in 1993 a Primetime Emmy Award for his work on The Ben Stiller Show. He and frequent collaborator Dana Gould co-created the 1998 cult show Super Adventure Team for MTV, and is a frequent performer at Uncabaret. Cohen worked as a director for television and commercials, including both seasons of the IFC show Maron. According to Arden Myrin and Dana Gould (former writer and co-executive producer of The Simpsons), Rob Cohen inspired the Simpsons character Milhouse.[1]

Being Canadian

Being Canadian is a 10-day exploration documentary of the director through a road trip across Canada before Canada Day, to find what does it mean to be Canadian and why the deep-rooted "culture of kindness" is unglamorous when compared to America's highly strung, dramatic culture and do these notions of inferiority affect the sense of identity; why Canadian nationality isn't recognized internationally as other nationalities; are Canadians repressed and passive aggressive; what is the conspiracy behind acknowledgement and cordial reception among Canadians outside Canada; why people relate circus, clowns immediately with Canadians; what is going on with partition of Quebec, Canada's national game, food, contributions...etc or is it embracing this cool and colorful multiculturalism that is integrating with mainstream Canada and enjoying its perks through active engagement and harmony is about being Canadian.[4]
