A four-year varsity women’s soccer player at Mount Notre Dame High School, Lavelle was rewarded with being named Cincinnati’s Player of the Year by The Cincinnati Enquirer her senior year. That same year, Lavelle scored 15 goals and scored a total of 38 points for her team. At the end of her high school career, Rose lead her team in number of goals scored, totaling 57. This lead Lavelle to being rewarded NSCAA All-Region her junior and senior year of high school and first-team all-state honors. Having a decorated background at Mount Notre Dame High School, Rose Lavelle was rewarded the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Sports Women of the Year award in 2013.[1]

She was ranked freshman of the year, and led the team with 73 shots and ranked second on her team with six goals.[4] As a junior, she was named first-team All-American by NSCAA. The last time a Wisconsin Badger achieved this was in 1991.[1]
