Ryan Graham Leslie Carters (born 25 July 1990) is an Australian cricketer representing New South Wales in the Australian domestic cricket competition, he also plays for the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. Originally from Canberra, Carters played for the ACT Comets in the Cricket Australia Cup as well as Wests/ University of Canberra Cricket Club in the local Canberra grade competition. Ryan moved to Melbourne in the 2009-10 season, making his first class debut in 2010 for Victoria. Carters signed on with New South Wales for the 2013-14 season, and cemented his place in the Shield team with hundreds in back-to-back Sheffield Shield matches at the start of the season. Carters was awarded the NSW 2013-14 Sheffield Shield Player of the Year at the 2013-14 Steve Waugh Medal Dinner. He was also awarded the NSW 2014-15 One Day Player of the Year, also at the Steve Waugh Medal Dinner. Ryan currently has four First Class centuries and was selected in the CA X1's versus England in 2013 and versus India in 2014. Ryan is the founder of Batting for Change, in partnership with the LBW Trust Charity. Batting for Change mobilises the generosity of Australians to create transformative educational opportunities for disadvantaged women in cricket playing nations. Batting for Change raises money for the LBW Trust through an innovative Pledge for Six model. Batting for Change has raised over AUS$140,000 during the last two BBL seasons. [1][2]
