Sacha M'Baye is a French footballer and model. He is known mainly for modelling for Burberry with Jourdan Dunn.[1] He has also modeled for Gap, American Eagle, Stone Island, GQ Style. He is of French and Senegalese descent, he is signed to Select (London),[2] Why Not (Milan)[3] and New Madison (Paris).[4]
Career
Sacha was born in France, though attended school in London throughout his formative years. He lived in Clapham with his family which included six siblings including Sacha's twin sister Ninka. Discovered while riding the tube at the age of seventeen, M'Baye thought that the photographer chasing him was a policeman, so he stopped jogging and surrendered. Soon after, Sacha was signed with Select.
Since that moment, Sacha emerged onto the scene and soon became one of the most sought after models of his generation. Industry heads began to turn, when in 2010 Sacha appeared in GQ Style's fall issue and debuted at the autumn Calvin Klein show in Milan. Sacha went on to sign for Espirit's holiday campaign and work for leading high-street retailers in the UK. Sacha's career continued on an upward trend, when in 2011 he became the face of Burberry; the first black model to represent the brand.
Juxtaposed to Sacha's modelling has always been his football career. From a young age Sacha's coaches knew he possessed the competitive drive, athleticism and work ethic to succeed at a high level in the game. However, Mbaye has yet to realise his full potential on the pitch, limiting himself to semi-professional matches.[2]
