Salawaku is the 2016 Indonesian road drama film which has shoot in the Seram Island in Maluku for bringing the Indonesian natural beauty of Eastern part.[1] The film has released on 2016; whereas plans its released on early 2017.[2] Produced by Ray Zulham and Michael Julius, the drama film has starred by Karina Salim, Raihaanun, Shafira Uum, Elko Kastanya and a rapper JFlow.

On October 26, 2016, the film has premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival and also listed the category for Asian Future.[3][4]

Accolades

Salawaku has winning to Dewantara Award trophy for category 2016 Best Feature Film version of 2016 Apresiasi Film Indonesia.[5]

At the 36th Indonesian Film Festival, the film has nominated for eight categories, including Best Film; and only taking home for three trophy awards: Best Supporting Actress for Raihaanun, Best Children Role for Elko Kastanya and Best Cinematography for Faozan Rizal.

Plot

This film is about the journey of two human beings is Salawaku (Elko Kastanya) and Saras (Karina Salim) whose had have different ages, different interests and different properties begins. Until the Kawanua (JFlow Matulessy), his adoptive brother who followed Salawaku. Salawaku receive Kawanua on their way because they believe in this man.

Kawanua goodness has blinded Saras and Salawaku. Saras slowly forget the broken heart and diverts it feels on Kawanua. Until at one point, Salawaku realize them away from Piru, where the located city's reportedly of Salawaku' oldest sister namely Binaiya (Raihaanun). Various conflicts and drama accompanying stories of their journeys before meeting Binaiya. The two figures are now stepping away as two humans are no longer the same.
