Samantha Carrie Johnson (born November 9, 1984) is an actress, filmmaker, and beauty queen from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who competed in the Miss USA pageant in 2007. She is the niece of E. Lamont Johnson and goddaughter of Alfre Woodard.
Johnson won the Miss Pennsylvania USA 2007 title in a state pageant held on November 19, 2006. It was her first attempt at the title. Johnson represented Pennsylvania in the Miss USA 2007 pageant broadcast live from the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles, California on March 23, 2007, but did not place.
Johnson graduated from W.B. Saul High School of Agricultural Sciences in 2002 and completed a film major degree from Temple University in May 2006.[1] She is a close family friend of Candace Allen, Miss District of Columbia USA 2006.
In 2007 Johnson founded a non-profit organization called Republic of Promise that helps impoverished children in the West African country of Liberia.[1][2]
In 2008-2009 Johnson co-owned Soul BYOB, a creole concept restaurant located in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania. In 2009 she was featured as a cast member on The Chopping Block, a restaurant based reality show hosted by the British three-Michelin-star chef Marco Pierre White.
