Sameera Sullivan

Sameera Abdulaziz Sullivan is an American dating expert, matchmaker, and image consultant, best known for her modern spin on old-fashioned matchmaking.[1][2] She is the founder and CEO of Lasting Connections, a professional matchmaking service for elite singles.[3][4][5]

Early Life And Education

Originally from Karachi, Pakistan, she moved to the United States when she was 11 years old. She grew up in Sugar Land, Texas, and moved to Portland, Oregon, as a young adult, where she studied psychology at Portland State University. She earned both a Bachelors in Social Sciences and a Masters in Education Administration, focusing on K-12 Education and Adult Psychology. She then went on to attend Walden and Capella University to attain her Ph.D, ultimately dropped out after her third year, instead attaining a second master's degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on personality psychology.[6]

Career

In 2009, Sameera attempted to start River City Academy, a private school in Portland, Oregon for children with neurological differences. She was working with the Monarch School in Houston, Texas, in order to replicate their model as she felt there was a shortage of private schools catering to children with special needs. But due to the economy at the time Sameera was unable to raise the funding necessary to launch the school.

She then went to work as an Executive Headhunter and Recruiter in the Aerospace Engineering industry,[7] before gaining employment at It’s Just Lunch as part of their matchmaking team. While working for It’s Just Lunch, Sameera rediscovered an old love she had for matchmaking,[8] and ultimately in 2012 she chose to start her own matchmaking business after realizing there was a niche she could fill as most dating services didn’t offer personalized recruiting for their clients.[9][10][11]

As of 2015, Sameera continues to work with her elite clients personally through Lasting Connection,[12][13][14] and had also have launched a matchmaking dating app with video, Love Atlas.[15][16][17][18][19]
