Sana Yadi Reddy[1] is advocate by profession since 1984 onwards having been practicing in twin cities. Due to his passion for films he entered into Film Industry as a Producer and Director in the year 1996 with a blockbuster film PITTALA DORA.[2]
He never worked under anybody to learn the art of movie making nor did he ever go to any film school. All that he has is single-minded dedication and confidence in what he does with his natural instinct and by virtue of his observation since childhood.
With never getting the film bug out of himself, Sana has been thinking about legal cases, briefs and motions while making movie apart from his passion towards films. Every day that he spent working as an advocate, finally reached the tipping point where he said to himself there's no going back. Ultimately he successfully created his own mark in film industry.
Having an insight into understanding through experience of gauging emotions around him, Sana made his directorial debut with the major box office hit with folklore drama Pittala Dora in the year 1996, which earned him the many regional awards in Telugu Film Industry for best debut Director and Screenwriter. Sana's next films after Pittala Dora are Jai Bhajarangabhali (1997), Prema pallaki (1998), Bachelors (1999), Sampangi (2000) and KuchiKuchiKoonamma (2001) were successful big hits in consecutive years which were selectively selected touching different themes and messages. He made films without much fanfare but did insert his sensibilities projected widely on screen. What mattered for him isn't money or business but in what he strongly and staunchly believed in. This shows his dedication for the craft more than profits. For Sana, means of making a film is as important as that of an end. After all good action entails in good results and vice versa. After series of successful films till the year 2005, Sana jumped out of bandwagon for the way distribution and releasing films is went in a wrong manner taking the art to deep bottom levels. With a new upsurge of three upcoming films with a motto of having 3000 mini theatres on both Telugu states, vibrant Sana Yadireddy is back again with the task of making decent and sensible films.
His life is full of twists and turns from the beginning but took them all in his stride. As he grew up, he begun earning knowledge coupled with wisdom that led him towards a good path. Although he made himself as an open book, he did everything with love for what he did, does and will do in future. For him passion is no ordinary word. Like anybody even he doesn’t know what to do next but never failed to learn from incidents and experiences. Sana didn't question or answer all the whys in life but enjoyed ups and downs in equal measure. Even when he lost all the money he invested for films, he loved the work with the same passion. For him life is a journey of living and gauging the purpose of life in this world.
In Sana Yadireddy's Perception and Experience
Life is work and work is full of life
With a life full of twists and turns
He made it with people and cherished
With one single turn after another in life
Irrespective of smiling faces or scary smiles
Sana took all just as another twist ahead
Awaiting for many more to take head-on
Merely by strong will and kind open heart
For its best way to withstand life with smile
Be it to quell allegation of people or press
Simplest way of restoring strong reputation
Answering all the poisoned talk far at bay
Devoid of losing care and sensible approach
He always got what he wanted with love
With respect for every twist and turn in his life

Filmography
Every film made by Sana Yadireddy is different in its own way. He made films in a way that it’s not the film story itself, but the way the film is told that makes his movies nice. Filmography describes his opinion about society, human nature and life in general.
Pittala Dora (1996)
"When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile"
Banner | Sana Creations |
Producer | Sana Bhagya Laxmi |
Director | Sana Yadireddy |
Music | Ramani Bharadwaj |
This is Sana's debut picture wherein the protagonist hails from deep rooted village class. Toeing the idea of portraying a beggar-like character, this film is a complete comedy entertainer with musical family drama at its core. Pittala Dora[3] is a drama with message for the society conveying director’s thematic values of life. Its huge hit running 100 days and also competing with big budget films of those times.
Pittala Dora[4] is widely appreciated for it showed a realistic way of portraying life through the medium of pure entertainment as simple as that of a tongue that tastes lime. That too through a beggar who proved in the film the best way of giving and taking.
Motto of the movie is proved beyond words how when maturity sinks in, the wise simply walks away. Beautifully acted Ali as brother, Kota Srinivasa Rao as uncle and Indraja as uncle's daughter; all did justice to spread this message far and wide.
A brother's survival to get his sister married while tackling his own uncle who deceives him all along. Film is how the hero as brother not only gets his sister married but also marries the same uncle's daughter who cheated his family.
Pittala Dora[5] is a film that happens around us in every nook and corner of society but its strong aspect is how it was portrayed for greater common good. Specialty of the film is how revenge drama is replaced with tit for tat comedy entertainer which bears hero's characterization at its core. Intensively subconscious message of Pittala Dora is what goes around comes around…
Jai Bhajarangbhali (1997)
"In the middle of every difficulty you face lies an opportunity that changes your life"
Banner | Sana Creations |
Producer | Sana Yadireddy |
Director | T Prabhakar |
Music | Koti |
Jai Bhajarangabhali is a comic entertainer with deep rooted message that tit for tat can be conveyed in a soothing way instead of revenge drama. Produced under Sana Creations it had fared very successfully running 100 days all over Telugu state.
Amongst films of those times, Sana Yadireddy produced a novel science fiction film Jai Bhajarangabhali in the year 1997 with Rajendra Prasad and Indraja playing lead roles. Those days, Telugu cinema has been the medium of choice for playing out entertainment filled films. Obviously Sana tried a difficult genre to define making the finest sci fi movies challenging audiences, while taking them to places away from the everyday experience.
Film is about Hero Rajendra Prasad’s relentless efforts to do justice to his mother from that of deceitful act played by his father-in-law who cheats them by taking him away from love life Indraja from childhood. What’s special about Jai Bhajarangabhali is that from a romantic/ revengeful tone film takes into an interwoven drama which makes hero to stumble upon a Swamiji Avs whose efforts of making a powerful man makes Rajendra Prasad become an Iron Man first, Magnetic Man second and finally an animal at the climax. What’s laudable for making such a film is a mix of romantic drama with that of sophisticated transformation of hero. Sana's foresight of making an advanced film finds most striking about his work in this film.
As a producer this film has done with a value for balancing age old ancient practices with that of science. JaiBhajarangabhali goes in a children's entertainment filled drama keeping in its fold heavy theme which is touted to be the sole highly fantasized film till date in Telugu…
Prema Pallaki (1998)
"Many of romantic stories are failures of people who did not realize how close they were to win love when they gave up"
Banner | Sana Creations |
Producer | Sana Bhagya Laxmi |
Director | Sana Yadireddy |
Music | Krishna Neeraj |
Mr Sana produced and directed this film. The romantic story runs beneath a musical backdrop. Film which centers on a stark reality that getting prominence in any field is irrespective of caste, creed or sex. Prema Pallaki has a deep rooted message for society. Albeit made well it has failed at the box office for being a miscast.
Kavita, a pregnant is working as a maid at a learned man and song scholar Raghunatha Rao’s home. She overhears her master say about his aspirations of making his baby son the special talent and successor of his musical talent. Scholar's wife Sudha is pregnant as well. One fine day Kavitha recollects Bharani's words which is opposite to what she wants. As she felt the difference, during delivery time both herself and Scholar's wife Sudha are about to give birth to babies. It so happens that they give birth to two baby boys Vineeth (Kavitha's son) and Suresh (Sudha's son). The film progresses when babies are interchanged for a purpose. As kids grow, Raghunatha Rao makes Vineeth most talented singer and Suresh is being made by Bharani a reflection of himself. Suresh loves a girl Roja who is flattered by Vineeth's talent of singing. When Roja rejects Suresh's love proposal she scoffs at him and after he knows the reason for not accepting Suresh challenges that he would become a singer as that's a prerequisite and essential to win Roja's love. In due course, Suresh gets training by Vineeth in singing who is baffled at the end to know that Suresh has become a singer for winning his girl's love. Film ends on an emotionally high tone of sacrifice wherein Suresh drops his love as tribute for imparting singing talent in him.
Sana got lot of appreciation and impressed by this film Mr Ramoji Rao took special interest and distributed this film. By winning Vamsi Berkley Award he followed it with felicitations for making a different feel good film with good musical backdrop theme at its core…

Greater common good says never escape high school and studies during teenage. Bachelor’s film lends credibility to life. Irrespective of sophisticated technologies diverting students from studies, film shows the value of learning that's crucial for the rest of life. While shedding light on what teenagers do but depicts the experiences of adolescence which can affect as adults, how they could handle issues and the way relations among one another.

The film is considered as landmark for it proved anyone can become a hero or director or even a composer. Scores of small films have started taking shape since the film release…
Sampangi Film (2000)
"When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace"
Banner | Kalyana Venkateshwara Films |
Producer | K Venkatesh |
Director | Sana Yadireddy |
Music | Gantadi Krishna |
Sampangi is a film that brought laurels for Sana which won not only commercial accolades surpassing 100 days and also winning Nandi Award as Best Director in the category of National Integrity.
This film supports Hindu Muslim harmony. Film is about two friends, Chalapathi Rao as Muslim and Ranganath as Hindu. Their friendship is so good that they never let religion come in their way. Ranganath comes to Chalapathi’s daughter wedding and falls ill due to kidney failure. Chalapathi comes forward and donates kidney saving his friends life. During the marriage Ranganath’s third son Abishek comes across Chalapathi`s second daughter Rijwana. For both its love at first sight. Though they became close neither Abhishek nor Rijwana talk about this to each other. Abhishek listens to conversation between his father and Osman about their friendship. Abhishek realises that he cannot forget his love. Even then he resists revealing about his love for Rijwana. And the very sensitive Rijwana also silently suffers. Finally Chalapathi as Osman gives the story a dramatic turn as he helps the young lovers to unite.
The movie is all about friendship between innocent lovers. It depicts the extent that the two lovers go to, sacrificing their love for friendship between families of two different castes and religion…
KuchiKuchiKoonamma (2001)

Banner | Sana Creations |

Music | Gantadi Krishna |
A film that reflects Indian culture and tradition. This film has won Golden Nandi Award for Best Children’s film. Going to grassroots movie explains how children should be loved and treated by parents while saying the value of respecting elders at their old age.
Vishwamatham, an industrialist, after retiring from his professional duties begins experiencing trouble due to daughter-in-law. While leaving home he happen to meet with an accident being saved by a colony members. During his stay in this colony, he gets closer to kids in whom he sees his grandson. During this period, his grandson Ravi becomes disresputable which makes his parents Raghu and Sirisha repent for what they did for Vishwanatham. On the other hand, kids get closer to Vishwanatham so much that it results in anti-feeling about him in the minds of parents in the colony. As he is about to leave colony too, Vishwanatham states which is an eye opener not just for colony people but also for his son and daughter-in-law who come to take him back home. This film depicts as to why kids get closer more to their neighborhood than their own families.
Film is produced by Sana directed by actor Ashok Kumar. Veteran director and actor K. Viswanath is the grandfather of an active child, Sai, whose very presence electrifies the whole atmosphere. His role is shaped as a role model for all grand parents. Besides his own grandchild, the other children in the locality also some under his influence and treat him as their own man.

Vasuki (In Production)
With information regarding plotline of Vasuki is not divulged as yet; rejuvenated Sana Yadireddy chose to prove a different definition of fantasy where Indian culture, history and drama are presented on highest platform on grand scale. Vasuki in short deals with Sana's fiction dealing with worlds that differ from our own as the result of his new discovery, new technology, and new affects show casing different Indian social systems. As Arthur C. Clarke famously said, Sana Yadireddy is here to prove a point through Vasuki film that "Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic".
Progression And Growth Service For The Film Industry
Film maker and producer Sana Yadireddy is unique for he began his journey into films purely as a producer who got into nuances of making by sheer confidence and observation so much so that he took production to great heights by making successful films one after another. Sana is a socially committed director who stood for small films and people at grass roots. Coming from a Law background, he became an expert in understanding how theatrical and cinematic creation failed to leap forward in terms of quality in this part of the world.
Support for Small Films
Mr Sana always vouched for new film makers since beginning. He has introduced new talent in each of the 24 crafts of the movie making while deftly going against the fraud underneath making films. Sana voiced his disagreement vociferously for the way the system of movie making towards execution and distribution has gone for cats and dogs. The way his passion drove movies is starkly visible from the fact that he hardly made money even after 8 of his films were successful.
Sana stood in support for small films and fought against monopoly in Telugu film industry by making quality films in low budget. He made small films big with quality in content and execution of feel good films for audience.
President of Telangana Producers & Movie Theaters Owners Association
As President Mr Sana espoused the need to introduce the concept of 2000 to 3000 Mini Theaters in both Telugu Speaking States. His zeal for work is visible when we see him practicing law even now.
After the formation of Telangana State, Sana Yadireddy stood for healthy living together of all Telugu people even when they are part of two independent states. He argued for separation of Film Chambers (that’s Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce and AP Film Chamber of Commerce) when rest of industries in both states is divided amicably.
In Mr Sana's words - "When the state is bifurcated into two states; having their independent/ respective governances with different policies and also needs and necessities of states concerned and in the same process when all other industries and Government departments are amicably divided, like RTC or Police Department or even Water Works. In the same manner why not Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce's can't be divided from that of Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce? We divide separately and live together for doing healthy business together.
Breaking the logjam of argument as to how budget is going steeply with actor’s remuneration and actual production value at its core. Sana who vouched for the cause of healthy and strong producer kept fighting for it in Producers Union as well as at other unions related to 24 crafts of movie making.
Whether its artists remuneration or technicians remuneration; its eating into the quality of movie making and degrading the value of an artistic and committed producer by no means. Sana has been fighting against this aspect since long years.
Service Through Sana Digital Studios
Sana Yadireddy started Sana Digital Studios at Banjara Hills in the year 2002 with an intent to provide better and timely post-production facilities to small and medium budget film makers. It is enabling the producers to adhere time schedule, which is prerequisite for film industry. The studio consists of six theaters for post-production viz., Recording, Film Editing, Dubbing, Giving Special Effects, Re-recording Background and Music; and Graphics & Animation.
Since the year 2000 onwards, more than 1000 feel good films availed post-production services from Sana Digital Studios with good quality. Most of these films which availed services at the post-production did fared well in the market.
Mini Theaters Concept
Sana believed since beginning that small film makers should be helped to perfect their know-how, help in their different approaches and cooperation should be boosted between makers and audience. The novel idea of close to 3000 mini theaters in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh is mooted with an idea of breaking the so-called film industry "monopoly" in distribution and exhibition in both Telugu states. To put Sana's words: "We are trying to do films that are unique and novel in content, take extra risks and are adventurous journeys in low-budget form. This is how the facet of films can and will change."
Tail Piece
Sana is and will always be passionate film maker and a staunch and fearsome adversary who was never loath to take credit for anything but in what he believed is right. Sana knows that just like in the year 1908 American public’s demand for silent films was already insatiable; same is the case for good films in Telugu and other industries in India.
Sana Yadireddy latched onto the point that people going to the movies represented not only an affordable entertainment but an extraordinary fascination for the films made. He firmly believes that films in India never had such a devoted and enthusiastic audience.
To put Sana Yadireddy's own words - "In my opinion, nothing is of greater importance to the success of any film than films of good moral tone for society."
