Satrangi Sasural^[6] was a Hindi-language Indian soap opera, broadcast on Zee TV channel from 3 December 2014 to 26 March 2016, Monday through Saturday. It starred Ravish Desai and Mugdha Chaphekar in the lead roles. It outlines the journey of a middle-class woman Aarushi, who marries into a wealthy family in the heart of Delhi, which consists of her husband, Vihaan Vatsal, and seven mothers-in-law. The show is an adaption of the Zee Marathi series Honar Sun Me Hya Gharchi. Originally, it was broadcast Mon–Fri at 10:00PM IST; on 21st September 2015, the show took a four-year leap with the death of the character Aarushi (played by Mugdha Chaphekar), with Vrushika Mehta portraying the new female lead, and aired Mon–Sat at 6:00PM IST.The show was initially a favourite among everyone but with the death of Aarushi's character on 21st Sept 2015 , the show dropped its Trp. Again with the entry of D3 famed actress Vrushika Mehta , the show somehow manages to keep its position among the audiences, but later on with the poor storyline of the show , the show gradually began to fall. The makers of the show thought of making the story freshly & killed the character of Vihaan who was the main male protagonist & introduced Rahul Sharma opposite Vrushika Mehta during the episodes aired on the 2nd week of March 2016. Later there was no development on the trp of the show & finally the makers pulled the plan of airing off the show at the end of March 2016. The show aired its last on 26th March 2016 and ended on a happy note. The show was replaced with Sarojini - Ek Nayi Pahel which was before aired on the 6:30 time slot while the slot timing of Sarojini was replaced with the new supernatural Zee TV show ' Vishkanya - Ek Anokhi Prem Kahani'. ^[7][8]

Satrangi Sasural is the story of love & marriage of Vihaan and Aarushi. Vihaan Vatsal's family consists of him and his seven "mothers"; he is the only male member in the house, while the matriarch is Daadi Maa. Each female member of the family has a tragic story from their past, related to their husbands. Vihaan, despite being the centre of attention, isn't spoilt or pampered but instead is nurtured to grow into a mature, loving, sensitive individual. Vihaan meets Aarushi, a middle-class girl, who is a kind, gentle and pure soul, and falls in love with her thinking she will please the varied expectations all seven mothers have from their to-be daughter-in-law in a bid to find the perfect match for their son. The journey is of Aarushi and how she accepts the challenge of marrying into a family with seven mothers-in-law and break through the tough exterior to not only live up to each of their expectations but also establish a loving bond with them. Finally she won everyone's heart & she was accepted as their daughter in law whole heartedly. As the story continues Bua maa while driving the car with Aarushui met with an accident & hit a woman passing by the road. The woman was admitted to hospital immediately & Aarushi took the responsibility of the accident upon her shoulders. They came to know that the woman's name is Vibha & came from a very poor family. It is revealed that Vibha is tortured by her husband & her step mother since she came to knew that her husband has physical relationships along with her own step mother. Aarushi was kept in jail due to Vibha's accident & Vibha's husband blackmailed the Vatsals that he will not give Aarushi's bail until they give him the big amount of money he asked for. Later Vibha came to knew about her husband & step mother's motives & she proved their guilty & also Aarushi's innocence in front of the court. Aarushi was freed & the Vatsals thanked Vibha for her help. Vibha was appointed as their house helper so that she gets employed. As time passes by, Vibha started to feel specially affected towards Vihaan. Sooner Aarushi & Vihaan planned for their honeymoon to Paris. Vibha came to know of it & she burned the passports so that they could not go away from the house but Aarushi suddenly changed their location to Mumbai where vihaan proposed her & thought of going their instead of Paris & they left for Mumbai leaving Vibha . Soon Vibha's affection turned into an obsession and planned something big to get Vihaan back. While in Mumbai Aarushi & Vihaan were enjoying the honeymoon some goons attacked both of them. At the fight between Vihaan & the goons, the goons accidentally pushed him down to the sea. Aarushi later realised that Vihaan is not showing up & thought he must be in some trouble and called the police to find Vihaan. Two days passed and there was no signs of Vihaan . The mothers got shocked when they heard that Vihaan is missing. But Aarushi never let her hope die & wait for Vihaan along with her seven mothers. Aarushi was getting pregnant but still there was no news of Vihaan. In this way, 7 months passed by and on the day of Aarushi's baby shower, Vihaan came back home along with Vibha . Everyone got shocked when Vihaan told them that Vibha is his wife. Later the Vatsals came to knew that in the accident Vihaan lose his memory & Vibha totally changed his mind saying that she was hos long lost wife & his 7 mothers & introduced Aarushi as their house maid. Vubha blackmailed the whole family that Vihaan is now hers and they should only follow her orders or else she will make Vihaan more complicated against them. As time passes by, Vihaan do not feel anything for Vibha & instead go attached towards Aarushi always. At this Aarushi hopes he gets remembered everything & expelled Vibha from the house. Vihaan do not understands why is so emotionally attached towards his house maid (i.e. Aarushi). Aarushi gave birth to twins of opposite sexes. Vihaan seeing the twins felt very emtionally attached towards them. Vibha planned of taking Vihaan away from his family or else he will forget her but on the way Vihaan slowly regains his memory & realised Vibha's evil deeds towards his family. The next morning the Vatsal house was on auction held by Vibha & she sold off the house to an old man at a very large amount but came to realised that the man was none other than Vihaan. Vibha came to knew that now she cannot get Vihaan since his memory has regained and came to their house in disguise of an old crooked woman and placed her lips covered with poison upon his & asked him to marry her else or he will die after some hours. When Vibha and Vihaan are about to get married Aarushi gives antidote to Vihaan . But Vibha takes the twin girl with her and blackmails everyone. She burns their house and they lose every wealth . After many attempts they finally found out the child. Ultimately Aarushi stabs Vibha with a long rod . From the back Vibha pulls her trigger and shot Aarushi thrice & falls down . Finally Aarushi hand overs the responsibility of her children & seven mothers to Vihaan & died.

AFTER 4 YEARS OF AARUSHI'S DEATH -

 The Vatsals are now very poor after Vibha's attack. Vihaan is now totally changed & had even forgot to smile due to his family's problems. His 2 children , Arhaan & Aaru , had grown up but they missed the motherly feeling. Vihaan now works for a rich old man who only had a grand daughter named Kaira . Kaira had a wicked uncle who is after her grandfather's property & a mistress called Bebo who is also after the property , but she pretends as if she only cares for the family & Kaira trusts her totally. Bebo somehow manages to kill Kaira's grandfather. It is revealed that Kaira's grandpa made a will before his death that he had transferred all his property under the name of Kaira but she will be the right owner if she marry someone within one week of his death. Kaira felt insecured about her uncle's motives over her grandpa's property and decided she should marry someone in order to get the property. Kaira finally chose Vihaan to be her groom and she will marry him. Vihaan at first did not accept the marriage proposal but Kaira made a condition that if he marry her then he is allowed to used her money and treat his mother well in the hospital. Vihaan thought that he is breaking his promise to Aarushi but as he was compelled to do so he marries Kaira under a contract saying that they two are husband & wife for the 3 months and will separate from each other after three months which was a plan made by Bebo in order to win Kaira's trust over her. Kaira was accepted by 4 mothers of Vihaan but 3 of them totally hate her . Kaira began to think welfare of the family & started loving Aarushi's children as if they were her own. Dadi Maa understood that Kaira is the one whom the family needs & knew that one day Vihaan will again fall in love with her . Bebo tried to killed Vihaan several times but was in vain & Kaira saved him everytime. Bebo tried to control Vihaan with the help of a woman who knew black magic but Kaira saved Vihaan somehow & consequently during that process of black magic, Bebo was killed by someone from the back & she died. As days passes by, everything was going on fine until one day a teenage girl of about 18 years old pay a visit at their house. It was later revealed that the girl was none other than Aarushi's younger sister, Mili who survived from the food poisoning of her whole family four years before & she had come to take revenge for her sister's & family's death . Mili exposed herself as a very kind hearted & polite person & she won everyone's trust since she was Aarushi's sister. Later, it is revealed that Mili is able to play black magics upon anyone. Kaira comes to know about Mili's truth & tried to exposed Mili in front of everyone that Mili is a witch but somehow with the help of her magic, she manages to keep Kaira's mouth shut up. Kaira already starts falling in love with Vihaan . The mothers thought of marrying Kaira & Vihaan again along with all the rituals. They finally agreed to marry each other but Mili was not at all since she thought that Vihaan after getting her sister Aarushi murdered is again marrying Kaira. She manages to create misunderstandings between Kaira & the mothers who hated Kaira. The mothers who hated Kaira were in the support that Vihaan should marry Mili instead of Kaira since she is more loyal & Aarushi's only younger sister. Vihaan & 4 of the mothers did not like this idea. Mili trapped Kaira on her wedding day & went off to marry Vihaan with the support of some of the mothers. When half of the marriage is over Kaira finally came & Vihaan married her instead of Mili. But the mothers who were in favour of Mili told that Mili is also Vihaan's wife since had half married her. Vihaan did not accept Mili as his wife but allowed Mili stay with his children instead. Vihaan also came to know of Mili's secret that she is not a common human & can play black magic. Kaira & Vihaan were after Mili while she was going to a far away place to meet someone. But Mili escaped from them & met with a person of whom she was giving much respect . In the middle of the journey, Kaira felt cold  & sick . Vihaan let her stay inside a hut & told her that he will arrive as soon as possible. Later Vihaan showed no signs of him & Kaira felt worried. Kaira felt better the next day & wonders where Vihaan could be. She became tensed when she found out that Vihaan is not at home too. Later she became relieved when Vihaan return. Soon she realised that Vihaan has totally changed in the last few days . Vihaan behaved very rudely towards her but stay very calm in front of his mothers , children & Mili even. Mili told her that this time she had played a very nice game & Kaira will not be able to defend her & the whole family this time. Kaira finally realised that this Vihaan is not actually her original one but a fake look alike of Vihaan whom Mili has created with her black magic. BeWith the help of a woman who knew black magic, Kaira came to a conclusion that the real Vihaan is trapped inside another world. Kaira succeeds in  bringing Vihaan back home but everyone got confused seeing two Vihaans & the mothers & his children thought of testing the two & find out who the real one was. They succeed in finding the real one out. Later, the fake Vihaan got angry & due to some chants chanted by the whole family could not resist himself from exposing himself as a fake person & got disappeared in the thin air. Everyone got shocked seeing that this things occurred in real life but later all the mothers came to know that Kaira is the one whom they were waiting for so long after Aarushi's death. Everything was back to normal again & now everyone hated Mili because of her deeds. Mili realised that she was doing wrong to the family & apolozised for her deeds but none accepted her apology. One night, Kaira heard weird sounds coming from Mili's & saw that someone was trying to torture Mili & Mili was begging the person not to do so & will accept every command of the person to ruin the Vatsal family. Kaira realised that Mili was doing all the deeds under an unknown person's orders who was controlling Mili all these days with the black magic & thought that Mili is really innocent. Kaira thought of helping Mili prooved her innocence in front of all that she was being controlled by someone who wanted to ruin the whole family. Mili tried to remember the face of the person but she coukd not since she had seen the person only at the time when she was under control. Days later, a doctor confirmed that Kaira is pregnant with Vihaan's child & everyone is happy with the news. During a visit at a temple, Kaira came across a woman of a very kind heart & very caring character whose name is Vasundhara who lives with her paralysed husband at her home. Mili only remembered that the person's name was something like Mayavini. Kaira started to meet very often with Vasundhara whenever she was alone but she somehow manages to go away whenever any person of Vatsal came in between them. Meanwhile, Dadi overheard some of her neighbours talking about Kaira getting pregnant with the person who was the lookalike of Vihaan . She became very disturbed with this question whether the child is of Vihaan or his lookalike that she asked Kaira about it. Kaira felt sad that Dadi Maa has pointed over her character & thought of leaving the house instead. On the other side, it is revealed that Vasundhara was the person whom Mili had referred as Mayavini & she was the one who was playing the whole game of black magic in order to ruin the family . She did not let the chance of Kaira leaving the house slipped away from her hands & came to Kaira's support & asked Kaira to stay in her home instead. Kaira agreed to her & stayed at her home for some days. Vasundhara finally met Vihaan through Kaira & he too trusted her. Dadi Maa realised the fact that she was doing injustice with Kaira & asked Vihaan to bring Kaira home back & she had no doubts over the child anymore. But when Vihaan went to Vasundhara's home, he asked Vasundhara about Kaira & she manages to keep her inside with sone excuses & dismisses Vihaan from there. Later, Kaira convinced Vasundhara that she should leave her place for the Vatsals & she finally agreed. During a visit to Vasundhara's house, Vihaan came across a globe of jewel of where he had seen at the place where he got captivated. Vihaan somehow manages to get hold of the jewel & bring it home & hides it at the back of the statue of the goddess. After this , Vihaan & Kaira doubted about Vasundhara due to the sudden attachment with Kaira within the last few days but they were not sure enough whether she was the one after all there troubles. Meanwhile, Dadi Maa had to go somewhere far for some holy deeds for the family. When she reached she told the priest not to revealed her secret to anyone. She was sure that something bad is happening all the time with her family & wanted to cleared off every family member's fate from evil. But she came to knew that she had forgot to bring the booklet where Vihaan's fate was written & promised herself that she is going to that old building for the last time & told that this secret must not be known by any of her family members. As she reached the place, she searched for the booklet of Vihaan's fate & found that it has been teared off. The secret is revealed that Vihaan is not the biological child of Narmada (Vihaan's mother in the story so far from the beginning) , instead is her daughter Bina's son. But Bina was wicked in nature & play black magics upon others which Bina's husband & Dadi Maa did not like her & was expelled from the Vatsals house from that night. So Bina thought of taking revenge from her own family & on that night she sent some goons to bring back her son (i.e. Vihaan) from the house but the goon mistakenly brings Narmada's child instead. Dadi Maa did not want Narmada to become sad for her son's loss & put Bina's son near Narmada instead so that everything will be fine. Bina tried to killed her husband but her husband got paralysed instead. After revealing this story, Dadi Maa left the house but met with a car accident to her way back.
      With the help of an old sage , Vihaan realised that Vasundhara gained all her dark powers from this globe of jewels & that she could only be destroyed by destroying the globe on the night of full moon which was the next night. The sage also told that if Vasundhara or any of her blood member got hold of this in her hands the next night , then the jewel will glow & regained all the black powers from it. Vihaan thought of trapping Vasundhara with jewel since he knew if she is the real Mayavini then she will surely need the jewel the next night to regain her powers & in that process the truth of Vasundhara will come out & he will reveal it to Kaira & the whole others. As the hours of the full moon night arrives, Vihaan was ready to trapped Vasundhara & got hold of the jewel . Suddenly the jewel started glow & at this , the sage told since it is glowing upon his hands it means that he is somehow related to Mayavini & told that maybe he's the biological son of her. Vihaan could not locate Kaira at the time & he hugged 7 of his mothers, his children & asked Mili to looked after them if anything happened to him now. Vihaan realised that Vasundhara is his mother & the person with whom he saw with her was his father & promised himself that in order to save his family from her, he will do anything to protect his family & went to the forest where Vasundhara was waiting eagerly for him with the jewel. But instead of giving back to her, he threw the jewel upon fire where the jewel of her black magic turned into ashes. Inspite of guilty, Vasundhara revealed that she was the Mayavini whom he was finding for all this long . But before Vihaan revealed that he was her real son she hitted hard upon his forehead & slit his throat with a knife & ran away. Kaira came towards Vihaan running & asked him who had done this to him . Vihaan bid her goodbye & before he pronounced Vasundhara's name , he left the world. Kaira shouted his name & promised that she will avenge who is responsible for her love's death. 

AFTER 1 MONTH OF VIHAAN'S DEATH -

Aaru & Arhaan were waiting for their father since it was father's day & they were expecting big gifts from him. The mothers were busy in preparing for the party of father's day along with the children. Kaira brought gifts or them saying their father had sent for them & gave some excuses for his absence. Dadi Maa appeared before them suddenly & behave a little awkwardly. Dadi Maa started behaving rude towards Kaira & told her to wear dresses as that of a widow & let her sleep outside the house at night. On the other, Vasundhara realised that she had killed her own son & also had lost her powers. She thought that this time she will never leave anyone of the Vatsals members from their death. Kaira followed Dadi Maa's every words but thought she had changed after her return. Kaira realised that Dadi was compelled by Vasundhara to do so towards her. Kaira promised Dadi Maa that she will not leave Vasundhara easily. Later Dadi Maa brought Vasundhara & her paralysed husband (i.e. Vihaan's real father) at their house. The other women of the house did not care & were on Kaira's support. They indirectly tortured her all through their house. Meanwhile , a young man called Bharat Bhusan Chautala popularly known as BBC started liking Kaira who was Kaira's new neighbour. Ultimately, the motives behind Vasundhara was known & during a conflict , Vasundhara received an electric shock & died. Later, it was revealed that BBC was Narmada's long lost child. Kaira remembers Vihaan & wishes him to rest in peace. At the end, BBC propses Kaira & she accepts it.
