Sayalgudi is a Town panchayat in Ramanathapuram district in the India state of Tamil Nadu.
Demographics
As of 2001 India census,[1] Sayalgudi had a population of 12,049. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Sayalgudi has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%; male literacy is 77%, and female literacy is 59%. 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
Infrastructure
Sayalgudi is the educational centre for students from about 50 villages that are nearby. There is a Government Higher Secondary school and a private Matriculation school. Sayalgudi has a Government Primary Hospital and several other private clinics.
Geography
There are a few beaches nearby, as Sayalgudi is close to the Eastern coast of India.
