Sean Oultram (born 12 June 1986) is a former Australian ice hockey player who played for the Newcastle North Stars of the Australian Ice Hockey League from 2004 to 2011 and is a former member of the Australian national ice hockey team.

Playing career

Sean Oultram first played for Newcastle North Stars of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL) in 2004.[1] During his first season he played six games for the team but failed to record any points. In 2008 as well as playing for the North Stars in the 2008 AIHL season, also played brief one game stints in the East Coast Super League (ECSL) for the ECSL North Stars and the ECSL Sting.[1][2] The following season Oultram again played for both North Stars teams in the AIHL and ECSL.[1] Oultram returned to playing exclusively for the Newcastle North Stars in 2010. Starting the 2011 AIHL season Oultram was named one of the teams alternate captains. Oultram retired from ice hockey following the end of the 2011 season.[1]

He has also been a member for the New South Wales State team. During 2008 Oultram played in four games in the Brown tournament for players 23 and under however he failed to record any points and finished with four penalties in minutes.[3]

Oultram was first called up to represent Australia in 2004, where he joined the national under-20 tean to compete in the 2005 IIHF World U20 Championship Division II Group B tournament being held in Puigcerdà, Spain. Australia finished fifth while Oultram recorded only six penalties in minutes for the tournament. The following year Oultram was again selected for the national under-20 team to compete in the 2006 IIHF World U20 Championship Division II Group A tournament. Oultram finished with one assist for the tournament while Australia again finished in fifth place. In 2010 Oultram was selected for the national senior team to compete in the 2010 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament being held in Mexico City, Mexico. Australia finished second while Oultram failed to record any points for the tournament, finishing with only four penalties in minutes.[4]

Oultram was born on 12 June 1986 in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia.[1]
