Seeloo

Seeloo is a proposed model village in Baramulla District, Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is situated on the Srinagar-Kupwara highway and is on the banks of the Pohru River. It provides connectivity to Zaingair area with the Rafiabad and Qaziabad area.

Seeloo consists of six mohallas: Al-umar, Naikpora, Bhat, Telwanpora, Hajam, and Sidiq Colony. Seeloo is also famous for ten chinars, which are situated on the road side.

Places of interest

There are 11 masjids in Seeloo, four of which are Jamia Masjids. The village has a relatively big market , power receiving station, allopathic as well as homeopathic public health center and a one-vehicle fire and emergency service station. As of 2016, there is a business unit of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and a branch of Baramulla Central Cooperative bank with the former one also having an ATM installed.

The Islamic Dawah Center is Seeloo's public library, which lends Islamic books. Seeloo has a Government Boys Middle School,Government Girls Middle School, Government high school as well as a public school, Shah Faisal Memorial High School.

This Village is also known for the famous Teacher Mr Sheikh Ghulam Qadir who served the whole Zaingar area as educationist. The great server passes away on 15 Nov 2013 after prolonged illness.

This place is also remembered for great Haji Aziz Joo who was sole royal person in terms of wealth in the area.
