Shaherose Charania

Shaherose Charania is a Canadian born entrepreneur who lives and works in San Francisco.

She runs Founder Labs - a pre-team, pre-idea incubator for new mobile startups.

Charania is also an advisor at Opinno,[1] an open innovation network for growth stage startups across web, mobile, cleantech and biotech. She is also a mentor with 500Startups.[2]

She consulted Ribbit (acquired by British Telecom) on various consumer products and market launches.[3] Previously, she was Director of Product Management at Talenthouse where she led the company’s product from concept to initial alpha launch.[4]

Before that she was at JAJAH (acquired by Telefónica/O2) as the Director of Product Management and Marketing. She began her career in Silicon Valley at TiE Global overseeing governance and operations of 40+ entrepreneurship centers.

In parallel, Shaherose is perhaps best known as the CoFounder and CEO of Women 2.0,[5] a media company offering content, community and conferences for aspiring and current women innovators in technology. She has led its growth to include tens of thousands of participants, hosting monthly educational and networking workshops and engaging entrepreneurs and investors from top Venture Capital firms and Angel circles.[6] Over the years she has seen over 300 early stage startups through Women 2.0 and has a strong interest in supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

She applies her commitment to positive social change to her role as a Board member for Good World Solutions that builds mobile apps to empowering factory workers in China, India, and other global markets to enable safety, communication and responsibility between employers and workers.

Shaherose holds a B.A. in Business Admin from the University of Western Ontario’s Richard Ivey School of Business and completed an international exchange program at ESADE in Barcelona, Spain.[7]
