Shaktimaan Animated is an Indian animated action-adventure series, which is based on the famous Indian superhero series Shaktimaan. It is created by Reliance Animation and was aired on Sonic on December 20, 2011.[1] It is the only animated series on Shaktimaan (franchise).
Plot
Vehan Arya and Kilvish were both students at a Himalayan monastery[2] where they received psychic training on harnessing yogic energy from seven gurus. Kilvish and Vehan both excelled at these trainings but whereas Kilvish had no sympathy for his fellow students, Vehan had a heart filled with love and compassion for his fellow students. The gurus therefore decided to name Vehan as the “chosen student”. At this Kilvish lost his temper and killed his fellow-students. Vehan’s death at Kilvish’s hand was however prevented by the Gurus. Kilvish left the monastery but Vehan resolved to avenge the death of his mates. Kilvish had secretly obtained training from an evil-mystic to gain evil powers.
Later, Kilvish unleashes his evil power on the hapless citizens of Indus City. The Gurus decide to confront Kilvish and foil his evil plans. However, Vehan offers himself as a substitute even though the Gurus oppose Vehan’s decision as he has not yet completed his training and has not attained full power. But Vehan reasons that the knowledge resting with the Gurus would be lost forever from humanity if Kilvish succeeded in killing them. The Gurus therefore, bless his decision and say that they expected nothing lesser from him.
Vehan Arya arrived at Indus City as a student of software engineering responding to an advertisement for the post of a lab assistant to Dr. Gyaani. Dr. Gyaani is a genius and renowned computer scientist who developed an integrated software program to detect real-time terrorist threats and cyber-crime as also natural calamities and their sources. The software is also capable of bio-mapping to detect life-forms or seismic and volcanic activity. Its satellite-linked mapping system is capable of pin pointing the exact epicenter of such threats. The software is programmed with artificial intelligence to imitate Dr. Gyaani’s mother who had died in a terrorist attack.
At the Indus University, Vehan meets a student of journalism, Lina who expects to launch her career in journalism with a thrilling news-story.
At Indus City, Vehan adopts a red-suited avatar to protect the people from Kilvish’s attacks. Lina names Vehan’s alter ego as Shaktimaan. She and the others are unaware that Vehan and Shaktimaan are one and the same person. Vehan poses as "geeky" character who is a defenseless person. He is shown to be a vegetarian and to devote all his spare time to meditation and yoga exercises.
Dr. Jackal, an evil scientist, has an old enmity with Dr. Gyani since he was the reason Dr. Jackal had been put behind bars. Kilvish teams up with him so that together they might each get revenge – Kilvish from Shaktimaan and Dr. Jackal from Dr. Gyaani.
Shaktimaan battles various evil creations of Kilvish and Dr. Jackal. Shaktimaan and Kilvish confront each other in a battle in the episode “Unfinished Business”.[3] But Shaktimaan defeats him and Kilvish disappears with the resolve to obtain “ultimate power”. They confront each other again in a final battle in the episode “Ultimate Power”.[4] Shaktimaan is able to vanquish Kilvish in this battle as he realizes that the “ultimate power” is love for his fellow creatures and he forgives Kilvish because he realizes that Kilvish had a childhood bereft of love and that had hardened him into a revenge-seeking man.
