Shamim Osman is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and the Member of Parliament from Narayanganj.[1]
Career
In 2011 he contested the Narayanganj City elections but lost to Selina Hayat Ivy.[2] In 2016 he called for the formation of local anti terrorism committees in Bangladesh.[3]
Personal life
His older brother, Nasim Osman, was a member of Parliament from the Jatiya Party.[4] His younger brother, Selim Osman, is a member of Parliament from the Jatiya party.[5] Their father AKM Shamsuzzoha was a member of the first parliament of Bangladesh, and their grandfather, M Osman Ali, was a founding member of Bangladesh Awami League.[6]
