Shandy Aulia

Nyimas Shandy Aulia or her popular name Shandy Aulia (born June 23, 1987), is an Indonesian actress. Shandy had ever acted in soap opera Inayah and films Apa Artinya Cinta? and Eiffel I'm in Love. Shandy had been nominated for "Best Crying Scene" but loses to Winky Wiryawan at the 2004 MTV Indonesia Movie Awards.

Career

Shandy' name started popularly since her role as Tita in the film Eiffel I'm in Love. In this film, Shandy paired with actor Samuel Rizal, who later became his girlfriend. After that, they returned paired in the film Apa Artinya Cinta?.^[1] After a while, Shandy began rarely heard. It turns out she busy her college and was taking care of only child. Although Shandy is known not married, but she has to have an adopted son who still 5 years old, namely Reinhary Samuel Robert.^[1]

Shandy are more likely to appear on the movie, it does not mean do not want to appear in soap operas. Only she prefers the corresponding character for she played, one of the namely Hareem, an soap operas stripping which aired on Indosiar. Her appearance on the screen can also be enjoyed through the soap opera Mendadak Kawin.^[1]

In 2015, Shandy back starring in the controversy film, Tarot, as Julia/Sofie and she also to be an model video clip in Boy William' "Stranger In My Bed", also be an soundtrack for same film.^[2] In addition her career as soap opera actress, Shandy also penetrated the fashion business, namely SA Collection. Her business fashion had increasingly to market target totally fashionable young woman. Shandy admitted that SA Collection not new business but already long time to maintained.^[3]

Personal life

Shandy was the youngest child of four siblings from Kemas Yusuf Effendy, a Muslim and Elsye Dopong, a Christian. Her father from Palembang, while her mother from Manado. At the age of 3 years old, her parents divorced. Shandy joint with her mother, while her three oldest brother joined with her father.

Previously, after a failed relationship with actor Roger Danuarta, Shandy then a relationship with Samuel Rizal, co-star in the film Eiffel I'm in Love. But their relationship also eventually break up.^[1]

Although the wedding preparations have been done, but in November 2010 Shandy certainly failed to be married to Dave Laksono, a son of minister Agung Laksono planned to take place on December 18, 2010 because of differences of religion. On December 12, 2011, Shandy suddenly married David Herbowo, a man of Chinese descent who was the son of a businessman. Their wedding was held in a chapel of the Church in Bali. Her father, Kemas Yusuf Effendi, did not attend the event.^[4]

Alludes statement about fashion

Just recently, Shandy had decided to shift her focus to the world of fashion. When invited to be a guest star in the program, Ada Ada Aja, Shandy elaborated about the business she is currently doing. Interestingly, Shandy discusses a series of celebrity fashion from another, like Laudya Cynthia Bella, Nikita Willy, Syahrini, one of them is Bella Shofie.^[5] Shandy commented that Bella's display dress 'butterfly' in the Red Carpet of 2014 Global Seru Awards was considered inappropriate.

"If the theme of the event is butterfly costume party, (it will be) perfect. But when it comes to a red carpet event, ya... Maybe she was inspired by the song "Kupu-Kupu Malam", so inspired by it."^[5]

Knowing her name quipped, Bella became offended by the statement. Through her Path account, Bella vent her anger towards Shandy with profanities and uploaded Shandy's photo news about her:

"This post is dedicated to the artist that carelessly commented about my style at the Red Carpet event of 2014 Global Seru Awards at the show Ada Ada Aja yesterday. Nothing is wrong about my fashion, it is just as the theme of the event, Pop Art Creative. My dress was just like the other artists that equally wear styles that fit the theme. You claim to be educated, but your words does not mirror you educational background!"^[5]

Apparently, the news about Bella's anger finally reached Shandy' ears.^[6] Of the unwillingness to drag the problem further, Shandy wrote a clarification statement on her official Instagram account, saying:

Good evening. Over the last two days, I have read a lot in the media about my statement on the Ada Ada Aja program. Now that the news had become excessive and cornering (me), I apologize to those who feel offended or not pleased with my remarks. With all honesty, there was an element of spontaneity (when she uttered the sentence) and I did not mean to offend or hurt anyone. I simply thought of the title track ["Kupu-Kupu Malam"] without me understanding completely the meaning of the song, and that mistake of mine had created a misunderstanding. By this, I hope that the media would refrain from the discussion of this matter because I have made it clear that I had no desire to hurt anyone with my remarks or deliberately. Moreover, I have never known such parties personally because I do not want any misunderstanding. I hope my explanation and apology personally make those who feel uncomfortable can understand and no longer prejudiced. For me, if there is someone who feels hurt by words, let us keep apologizing not have to think who is right or wrong or deliberately and not intentionally. And humble yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Thank you. God bless."^[6]

In fact, Shandy insisted that she had no ill intentions at all over the commentary about Bella's fashion. But for the end to this misunderstanding, she apologize if what she said offended concerned.

Bella could not be reached for her comment related to the apology from Shandy. Bella's assistant, Datuk, was not willing to give a statement and said: "Bella is still filming the soap operas, Rajawali and she is not able to give a comment at the moment.". In addition, Bella's manager, Tata Liem, also did not want to give a statement.^[7]
