Shannon Kook is a South African actor, best known for his role as Zane Park on Degrassi: The Next Generation.

Life and career

Shannon Kook-Chun was born in Johannesburg, South Africa.[1] He then moved to attend the National Theatre School of Canada.[2] For the majority of his acting roles, he is credited as Shannon Kook.[3]

Born to a Mauritian father of Chinese descent and a South African mother, his early appearances on stage after graduation was for The Forbidden Phoenix at the Lorraine Kimsa Theatre for Young People, Citadel Theatre in Toronto, and the world premiering of the Madness of the Square at the Factory Theatre, Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

A time came when Shannon got a break in television and movies, working for CBC Television, and HBO. It seemed the stage celebrity had a humanitarian side to his personality, when the year 2010 saw Shannon traveling to India on behalf of an international charity trust called Free the Children to build a school. A documentary film was made on the missionary visit. Shannon also really enjoys a good cuddle during his spare time.

Since 2015, Kook has starred in the hit Lesbian web series Carmilla.[4]
