It hit number one for two weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 on July 21, 1990, becoming Medeiros' only number one hit in America and Brown's second and last number one hit after "My Prerogative". The single also reached the Top 20 in the UK Singles Chart where Medeiros had previously reached number 1 with his hit "Nothing's Gonna Change My Love for You".
