Smail Prevljak (born 16 February 1995) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg on loan from German club RB Leipzig.
Club career
Early career
As a youth, he played for FK Igman Konjic and RB Leipzig. He was part of the RB Leipzig team that achieved promotion to the Under 19 Bundesliga for the 2014–15 season.[2]
RB Leipzig
After impressing in pre-season, he was signed for a two-year contract by RB Leipzig on 1 July 2014 alongside former youth teammate Patrick Strauß.[2] He made his professional debut on 2 August 2014, in a 0–0 draw against VfR Aalen.[3]
Liefering
On 1 September 2014, he was loaned out to Liefering.[4] He made his full-match debut in a 5–2 lost against Austria Lustenau on 26 September 2014.[5] He scored his first goal for the club, in a 4–1 win against Wacker Innsbruck on 3 October 2014.[6] On 27 May 2015, Prevljak was voted the best young player of the season in the Erste Liga.[7]
Red Bull Salzburg
He was loaned to Red Bull Salzburg in August 2014, before directly being lonead out to FC Liefering for the 2014–15 Austrian Football First League.[4] He managed though to make a debut for them in November 2014, in a match against Altach.[8] He will still stay in Salzburg for the 2015–16 Austrian Football Bundesliga.[9]
International career
Prevljak made his debut for Bosnia and Herzegovina under-21 on 27 March 2015 in a friendly match against the United States under-23 team in Tuzla.[10] He also took part in a U21 friendly match against Turkey U21.[11]
