Snuper (Hangul: 스누퍼; meaning "Higher than Super") is a six-member South Korean boy band under Widmay Entertainment, the agency's first Korean pop group. The group consists of Taewoong, Suhyun, Sangil, Woosung, Sangho, and Sebin.
History
Taewoong starred in several dramas prior to debut. Some of his dramas include Fantastic Tower (alongside BtoB's Minhyuk), Jung Yak Yong, and Tamra, the Island. Sebin also had cameos in movies such as Cart and Mourning Grave. In March 2015, Snuper recorded an OST for the Korean drama Hyde, Jekyll, Me.
In October 2015, Snuper began promoting for their debut with teaser images and performances. On YouTube, they recorded their own video diary called "Rookie Paper", beginning just a few weeks before their debut. On November 16, their first mini-album, Shall We was released.[1]
From January to February 2016, Snuper had their own reality show called Snuper Project where they sought to fulfill their fans' wishes. They also appeared on four episodes of Idol x Idol on Naver's V app. Woosung and Sebin also participated in the 2016 Idol Star Athletic Championships.[2] Woosung won a silver medal for the team in the 60m dash, beating Bangtan Boys' Jungkook in the first race and just barely coming in second to BtoB's Minhyuk in the finals. Woosung, Sebin, and Suhyun were featured in an episode of "Let's Go! Dream Team". Woosung and Suhyun won both of their events.
On January 5, Snuper recorded an OST for the drama Oh My Venus. On January 14, two remixed versions of "Polaroid" were released, "Night" and "Day".[3] On March 8, Snuper released their second mini-album, "Platonic Love".[4] On April 9 and 10, Snuper attended KCON in Japan.[5]
In June, Snuper's official fanclub was given the name "Swing". The following day, their first single album entitled "Compass" was announced to be released on July 12.[6] The album is also produced by Sweetune. Snuper will also be filming a web drama that will feature their fans as well.
On November 15, they released their third mini-album, Rain of Mind, and the music video for its title track "It's Raining".[7]
