Southeast Asian English

Southeast Asian English is the English spoken in Southeast Asia, namely Singapore English, Malaysian English, Brunei English, Philippine English, Thai English, and possibly Hong Kong English.[1][2]

The Malay area group (Malaysian, Singaporean, Bruneian) are based on British English, and have been influenced by Malay and Chinese, as well as Indian English. They now incorporate elements of American English and World English. They share similar phonology, vocabulary, and syntax.
