Sri Lankan cricket team in England in 1975
The Sri Lankan cricket team toured to England in the 1975 English domestic cricket season.
During the tour, Sri Lanka made its One Day International debut in the 1975 Cricket World Cup, the inaugural tournament, playing (and losing) ODIs against West Indies on 7 June,, Australia on 11 June, and Pakistan on 14 June.
Sri Lanka also played a three-day game against the East African cricket team in Taunton, from 23 June to 25 June. Captained by Anura Tennekoon, the Sri Lankans batted first, scoring 204. East Africa scored 208 in reply, to take a narrow first-innings lead. Sri Lanka scored 332-5 declared in their second innings, including a century (144) for Duleep Mendis, setting East Africa a target of 329. East Africa were bowled out for 213, with Michael Tissera taking 5-95, and Sri Lanka won by 115 runs.
