St. Kevin's Anglo Indian High School

St. Kevin's A.I. High School, founded in 1905 by the PBVM, is a private, all-girls high school in the Catholic tradition. The school is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The school is a member of the Anglo-Indian Board of Educations association.

History

• St. Kevin’s A.I. High School, formerly known as St. Peters School; had its beginnings in the premises of Mater Dolorosa Church. The strength was 55 A.I. boys and girls.
• St. Peter's School was renamed as Presentation Convent School in 1905.
• In 1930, the Silver Jubilee year of the school, it was renamed St. Kevin European school.
• In 1970 the school was conferred the title “Best school in Royapuram” and awarded a trophy.
• In 2005 the school commemorated 100 years of service in the field of education.

Amenities

• Classes from standard 1 to 10. Each class is divided into sections A and B.
• Each class has an Educomp Smartclass enabled board.
• The computer lab has a seating capacity of 60 students.
• An audio-visual room is the newest addition to the existing amenities.

Activities

Social welfare

• YSM - the Young Students Movement consists of 120 students. They aim to help the younger students work together towards greater understanding, with a spirit of dedication and commitment. The motto is "See, Judge & Act”.
• Guides - the motto is “Be Prepared”.
• RSP (the Road Safety Patrol) lloks after traffic control around the school campus, parking of vehicles, and ensuring school traffic regulations are followed. The motto is “We live to serve”.

Club

• Eco – friendly club - To preserve and conserve nature.
• Bulbuls is the preparatory phase for the Guides.
• English Literary club - motto - “The more our knowledge increases the more our ignorance unfolds”.
• Tamil Literary club - Motto : “Yadhum Oore, Yavarum Kelir”.
• Red Ribbon Club serves as a vehicle for communities and individuals to take a commitment to AIDS PREVENTION.
• Kevin’s Band consists of 30 students.
