The STEi Institute (STEi), a Private Education Institute founded in February 2009, is registered with the Council for Private Education in Singapore.[1] It offers academic courses and skills-based training to meet the needs of various industries – logistics & supply chain management, Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage, Maritime, and Homeland Security.[2]
History
- In February 2009, STET Centre Pte Ltd (STET CTR) was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of ST Education & Training Pte Ltd (STET). In April 2009, STET Centre successfully registered with Ministry of Education. In April 2009, STET Centre was certified as ISO 9001: 2008.[3]
- In January 2010, STET Centre Pte Ltd was renamed as STET Institute Pte Ltd, and in May 2010, STET Institute attained EduTrust Certification (Provisional). In the same year STET Institute Pte Ltd was renamed as Sirius Training & Education Institute Pte Ltd.[3]
- In March 2011, Sirius Training & Education Institute relocated its campus to Bylands Building. September 2011, Sirius Training & Education Institute was endorsed by Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for the conduct of Maritime Training programmes. Sirius Training & Education Institute was one of the few recipients of the Singapore Outstanding Enterprise Award in 2011.[3]
- In 2012, Sirius Training & Education Institute Pte Ltd is renamed as STEi Institute Pte Ltd. Also, the Institute was certified by Workplace Safety and Health Council on the attainment of bizSAFE Level 3. In December 2012, STEi Institute was approved as a registered Centre to deliver BTEC - Business and Technology Education Council qualifications was endorsed by Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) for the conduct of MLC certified Marine Culinary.[3]
- In 2013, the Principal of STEi Institute, Ms Christine Tan was invited by the President and Mrs Tony Tan Keng Yam, Republic of Singapore, for a tea reception at Istana. It was an honourable occasion for STEi as its commitment to community services has been well recognised.[3]
Campus
The STEi institute is located in Singapore at 135 Middle Road #03-03 Bylands Building. The institute occupies an area of 10,400 sq ft (935 sq m) and houses classrooms, workshops and resource room.[1][4]
