Story Untold (formerly known as Amasic) is a pop punk quartet based in Montreal, Canada that was founded in 2013. The band has been currently signed with Hopeless Records since May 2016.[1] On signing with Hopeless Records, lead singer Janick Thibault says– “We’re all very excited to be signing to Hopeless Records. Being a fan of the label and the artists it collaborates with it’s very humbling to be a part of such a hard working group that passionately cares for its individual talents. We’re very excited for the future and can’t wait to see where it goes. Looking forward to showing you all what we have in store.” [2] Simple Plan has known the five-piece for a while, and the French Canadians teamed up to write Story Untold's newest single "History". The song is about how the band is going to make it big, even if it seems like a crazy idea: "You can call me crazy/But when I close my eyes/I can see it clearly/I can see the shining lights." The song was co-penned with Simple Plan's vocalist Pierre Bouvier and drummer Chuck Comeau.[3] Shortly after their signing and their recording of their self-titled EP, they went on tour with Simple Plan and Hit the Lights. History
The group was formed in 2009 originally as a four piece, under the name Amasic. Janick Thibault as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist, with his longtime friend, Matt McCormack as bassist and co-vocalist, Mehdi Zidani on drums and Jessy Bergy on lead guitar. The four were influenced heavily by punk rock and pop punk bands such as blink-182, Simple Plan, and Green Day. the foursome originally got together posting covers on Thibault's YouTube channel, then later started writing their own songs. They soon gained a fan base and by 2016 were signed to Hopeless Records and started touring under a new name, Story Untold.
Unfortunately, bassist, McCormick left the band by 2016, so the band soon hired two new band members to help work on material. Guitarist, Max Cloutier took over as rhythm guitarist, so Thibault could focus more on singing, then bassist Aiden Von Rose took over the vacancy McCormick left behind.
