Sukhera

Sukhera people inhabit Southern Pakistani Punjab and in adjacent areas of India on the opposite side of border. They ruled large parts of the Indian subcontinent, as kings and tribal heads.

Sukheras claim descent from Sukha, son of Thirpal, a Tonwar Rajput. Sukheras are one of the main Pro-British Raj tribes of Punjab. Sukheras have close family linkages with Wattu, Bhatti and Meos tribes. Anangpal Tomar was the Raja of Tomar Chhatri Rajput. His sons Raja Tejpal and Raja Tehenpal were the forefathers of the Tomar Meos.
