Summer Breakfast
Summer Breakfast was a fill in breakfast show on Triple M commencing in December 2013. It is hosted by Ed Kavalee and has a range of guest co hosts. The first guest co host was Lawrence Mooney followed by Glenn Robbins.
There have already been calls for 'The Robot' Karl Stefanovic to join as a permanent co host and coffee machine. AFL football identity Rex Hunt has been booked to appear as a guest host, and has stated to Triple M "If you're paying money, I'll get my rocks off. How good is this!". There is growing speculation that the one and only Tony Martin will join as guest host in the coming weeks.
The equipment used to panel the show is the popular Marsland 5000, the only radio panel with a "Mystery" setting, China Hutch and 14 cup holders as standard. Ed Kavalee chooses to wear only a satiny kaftan between the hours of 7 and 8 each morning. Due to the show being a summer replacement of regular programming, Ed's bain-marie has been replaced by a breakfast buffet.
The show, although it has only been on air less than a week, has already said to have been more popular and generally better than the regular Triple M shows, such as The Hot Breakfast hosted by Eddie McGuire.
Although initially suggested in a Blue Sky Session by the Energy Captain, Kavalee will not be reprising his role as Prize King. In an unusual step, not supported by the scollop industry, the show breaks tradition by having the second hour of the show broadcast in Adelaide.
Summer Breakfast Producer and former content director from local Melbourne station Patterson Lakes Primary School (PLPS) has been quoted as saying that the show is "a bit gay" but does a good job at reminding the public to "make sure they put the bins out"
